Ruanne Y Lai

B.F.A., M.Sc.

I am a graduate student in the Moritz Lab. I am investigating the effect of small compounds in various genetic backgrounds of autosomal dominant retinitis pigmentosa in transgenic X. laevis. Concurrently, I am elucidating the cell death mechanism of rod photoreceptors and how it may differ depending on the genetic mutation.

During my spare time, I rock climb, dance, and teach yoga.

***Ruanne Lai is a holder of the UBC Four Year Doctoral Fellowship and was an NSERC PGS D Scholar. She also received the College of Interdisciplinary Studies Graduate Award from UBC.
